Todd Rundgren/Hello It's Me

Ever heard a song from long ago and you fall in love all over again? I stole this video, from my best bud, Shad Catcher/Brotherray. It brings such a smile to my face and takes me back to yesteryear. Did you know that Liv Tyler was raised by her Mom, Bebe Bruell, a Playmate and Todd Rundgren. It was only later, when Liv was in her teens, revealed that Steven Tyler, was actually, her real father.

Then, I found this...Damn!

My favorite Todd song was "Bang on the Drum", especially the part about banging on the drum "like it was my boss's head"!

Jonathan, yes, that was one of his more famous and commercial songs. I watched this video and it took me back to when things and life were still god and being in love was my only goal. It has eluded me and I have been fine with just me. It takes a lot to get to that point where you do not have to have another to fulfill you. But it is so odd, how this song could conjure up, my most intimate desires for or a desire to just be loved so much. Loved like I love with passion and purpose. Good grief, I could go on. When you get older, you'll see what I mean. It's not a bad thing, just a longing, an ache.

I know what you mean, Babs. I used to think I needed someone at all times, else I'd be lonely. Once I had some appreciable alone time, I realized that the problem wasn't being alone. In my case, the problem was simply how I interacted with and perceived myself.

It took some getting used to, but I learned to like me. As I get older, I like myself more (at the risk of sounding egocentric, but it's just how I feel). I've got a lot of excellent qualities, and while I may not be God's gift to women, I'm His gift to my family and friends (and they are His gift to me).

In short, I'm content with me. That allows me to be content with others.

Jonathan, being content and well in ones own skin is the best way to live. You are on the right track. I think we feel vibes off of each other. It is similar to when someone tells you, that your horse mells your fear. It is true. People can feel your fear or lack of confidence and so on. I think we don't talk about this extra sense because it can not be documented. Same w/intuition, we tend to dismiss it and maybe even think it's mumbo jumbo. But it is very real. How to prove it; Ever seen an ugly scarred up guy, that walks in to the room and ends up with all the chicks clambering about him? He exudes confidence and is good in his own skin. The women do look for a man that can take the reigns and drive. But but but, it is the man that is certain with himself, that will let go of the reigns and let the woman drive. he doesn't have to prove he is the man, she knows it, senses it and smells his confidence. I can tell, you are that man (not the ugly scarred part).

Jonathan, ps, it is best fro us to be whole before we can meld with another whole person. If you are a fraction of a man, she's a fraction, it does equal out, when you become one. If you are whole, as a man and she is as well, you bring to the table a total package. These are the marriages that really work. If you are ok, with your own company, then anything else is a bonus, right?

Butchieboy, yes, I have seen a lot about Todd and have always thought he was quirky but it is insane genius. He does not believe in lip service, in his industry but looks for innovative gestures in his field. Having said that, he has accomplished more than people realize. Because he does not bang his own drum on it, people don't realize all he has done and how many hats, he wears.
Insanity Rules!
